A girl's prerogative...

I've realised that I often don't know my own mind, but expect my husband too. I reserve the right to change my mind, but am still always right. Here's a little insight into a girl's prerogative...

The most wonderful wedding of Oz!

Oh my gosh! Why aren't all weddings themed on musicals?! Yesterday was the most super fun wedding of Mandy and Clive. It was fabulous beyond belief! Here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure!

It's all downhill from here...

Nooooooooooooooooooo. Shane's left Love Island. Shock horror! Life with all the celeb girlies has shown him that he actually loves someone at home and wants to get married and have babies. How romantic!

It's not going to be the same without him. He's been so spot on and a shining example. We'll miss you, Shane.

The lie-in didn't happen. Well, I managed 8am, rather than the usual 6.30am! Not quite what I had in mind though, so I have decided to use the time productively and work on my HTML! Here goes!

this should come up as lots of differentstylish fonts. New Yorker

Are you supposed to memorise all these codes or is it ok to look them up/write them down?

Blog crazy...

Tomorrow I will have a Saturday with Ben for the first time in about 8 weeks. I plan to:

  • Have a lay in

  • Refrain from doing any work whatsoever!

  • Celebrate Poppy's first birthday

Ok..so not the most interesting blog ever but I am expanding my html capabilities and have now added bullets to the list!

Dreams can come true.....

This blog is for my super doooper friend Faith, who had a dream to make balloon animals! Dreams do come true and WILL come true, Faith!

Strictly fabulous!

On another shallow note....
This week I have had my lovely ex-housemate to stay. During this time we have become obsessed with another set of housemates, those of celebrity love island! It's so fascinating to see how they all relate to each other, particularly in comparison to non-celeb versions. As a childhhod Eternal and Boyzone fan, I am very pleased to see kelle and Shane. It's also really interesting to see how they are sharing their faith. I wonder how much of their conversations is censored. But most of all I love..........Brendan, my second favourite Strictly character! (No one beats Carig R-H!)

My Mummy....

For Christmas 2003 Ben bought me a Radley handbag. Being me, I wasn't sure if I wanted it first (I sometimes take a while to come around to surprises!) but soon realised I loved it and indeed ALL Radley bags! My Mum and I had several conversations, in which she explained that she just didn't 'get' the whole expensive bag thing. Then last Summer, on a impromptu day-trip to Stratford upon Avon, we stumbled across a bag shop where I encouraged Mum to hold a few beautiful bags, to see how pleasing they were to the hand and eye. I believe that this was when the seed was planted. One dusky pink over body bag and classic brown handbag later, she is a fellow fan! Today I had the pleasure of a phone conversation to learn of her new purchase - a Radley briefcase for work. I feel very proud of her good taste, but more so of her excellent bargaining powers. Although really the credit should go to my Dad, who was the first to haggle with our friend Jacqui, of Jacqui's bags!
Hurrah for handbags!

The best yet...

My husband is 28 years old. He's crazy about video games, comics, gadgets and music. He is very creative, a brilliant artist (very useful when you're a teacher) and very techy. Recently he has been combining all these interests (into a socially acceptable outlet!) and making videos for the youth cafe he runs. His latest one is my most favourite one ever. It starts off with a clip from the new Superman film and reflects on some similarities with Jesus.

Check it out....

Not long now!

Cows!

My favourite part of today was a walk in the fields with Faith. At one point a group of cows surrounded us. Despite Faith's upbringing on a farm, we couldn't think how to get out of this predicament and Faith got licked on the elbow! It was very funny, if a little unnerving!

My Art!

I went on a really cool course today...embedding ICT in the curriculum. It was all very snazzy stuff. We had a live video link with the national portrait gallery and got to play on some expensive visualisers with projectors and digital cameras. Here is some of the art I made......

Strictly!!

Just experimenting with pics. Clever Ben has just shown me what to do. This is my amazing hair-do for our Strictly Come Dancing semi-final party, back in December. Good times!

DT

In my wisdom, I decided to spend the final lesson today teaching my class some basic embroidery, in preparation for our DT purse making. Nothing fancy - just stitching letters or designs into hessian.

Some children did very well - and we had lots of football related pieces - but others struggled. My favourite comments were being told by one boy that he didn't like'this knitting!' And another boy asked me for a new needle because his had broken. Having visions of snapped needles I asked him what he had done to it. 'Nothing' he replied, 'it just keeps coming unthreaded!'

Bless!

Why does everything go wrong at once?

Recently everything in our household has been going wrong.....computer hard drive error, cooker blew up, washing machine stopped working, sink leaking. Why does it always happen at once?

Then today to top it all off the car wouldn't start. I had been at work since 7.45am and was looking forward to seeing Ben for a quick change over before he went off to work (quasar!). The lights came on so I knew it wasn't a flat battery (been there, done that) and there was half a tank of petrol so I knew I hadn't run out (also been there and done that!).

At 6pm I called the recovery company and waited for them. To be fair they came within about 40 minutes. The guy was really nice and tried loads of different things, but to no avail. As I stood by the car park I watched my snazzy 40 days of purpose keyring dangling from the inigtion and wondered if the repair man had noticed it. And then the penny dropped................these weren't my normal set off keys. This was the set with the car key that has not yet been computerised and won't start the car!

I thought for a while about the embarrassment of confessing this mistake and realised that I could avoid any humiliation by being towed home (knowing that as soon as he had driven off I could start the car using the correct key). However, as it was now almost 7pm I decided to confess all.

The man reassured me that it was by no means the most stupid mistake he'd seen, but did ask me if he should put 'blonde' under the fault section of the paperwork.

On reflection, part of me was a tiny bit pleased with with this comment as my once dark blonde hair is now maintained by Jamie at Oasis Hair Studio!!!
